Do you ever realize that walking into Sephora is actually very, very dangerous? Hold on to your wallets ladies because you might be walking out bankrupt or feeling a little robbed. Funny story, my friend Isabelle and I went to Sephora the one day purely to check out the 100 point perks with zero intention of buying anything at all, not even a little. I had promised myself that I wouldn’t spend any money because we were planning on getting our nails done that afternoon and I couldn’t justify buying anything at Sephora.

But of course, we got pulled in by Sephora and ended up getting a small makeover to try out the NARS All Day Luminous Foundation which my friend was interested in trying out. I know this isn’t a review on the NARS foundation but it was actually amazing and it felt so nice on my skin. Also, the NARS concealer is amazing too…if only I had enough money to buy everything in Sephora. A girl can dream though right? Anyways, I had two very stubborn pimples that showed up on my face that morning and I was feeling very self conscious about it. Even when she was putting on my foundation, I couldn’t stop staring at them. I finally asked her if she had anything that would cover them up and she suggested the NARS concealer and this Kate Somerville spot treatment. She said she uses it herself and it dries up the pimple overnight and it’s a really great product.

To be completely honest, I felt bad for not buying anything after having a mini makeover to try out the products and I couldn’t justify buying a $60 foundation or an almost $40 concealer so I went with this product. Price wise, it is around $24 dollars, probably a little bit more expensive because I bought it in Montreal and with taxes and higher prices in general, I think mine’s came out to a total of a little more than $30. I know this is only a little bit cheaper than the concealer but I do tend to break out a lot and this is a product that could probably allow me to wear less foundation etc. This is me justifying spending $30 oops.

Sorry for rambling, now to the actual review. I wouldn’t say this is a miracle worker and I honestly don’t think there is a single product out there that can make your pimple disappear because then no one would have pimples at all. However, I can say that this does make my pimple smaller for sure!!! I’m not sure if this is TMI but I had one of those pimples that kind of stuck out and you can’t really cover it up. After putting this on my pimple that night, the next morning, my pimples were flat and a lot less red. I was pretty happy just with that because I just had a feeling that my pimple was going to be really stubborn so just the fact that I could easily cover it with foundation was pretty great. After the third day, I would say my pimple was basically gone.

Application wise, you have to be careful to let the bottle settle before placing your qtip inside it because there are different..layers of the product that apparently should mix together when you use it.There’s even a warning that says, do not shake on the cap in case you forget. In the bottle, the top half is clear and the bottom half is pink.

As you can see, it comes out this light pink colour and with this much product, I was able to cover all of my pimples. I also have to address the leopard print qtips…I swear this is all they had at my local drugstore. Just a little tip, you don’t have to dip your qtip to the very very bottom of the pink stuff because you will pick up a lot of product and if you don’t have a big area to apply it to, I feel like you’re just wasting the product. I made the mistake of dipping it to the bottom the first time and I came up with a giant big blob that I didn’t need.

When you first apply this, it does sting but it does go away very quickly and at least for me, it didn’t irritate my skin at all even though I feel like I have semi sensitive skin. This also comes with a small sample of the Kate Somerville moisturizer which is pretty nice and I’ve actually been enjoying it a lot!!

Overall, I would really suggest this spot treatment and with this product, a little goes a long way so it’ll last you for a while!

My skin care routine coming out soon!!!

I have to be honest, I’ve never really been a sweet tooth. If you give me a pick between sweet and savoury, more often than not I will choose the savoury. Even during brunch, I find myself constantly picking an eggs benny over waffles with whipped cream. Who knows, is anyone else like this? Although, I have to admit that I have times where I am just seriously craving something sweet (like right now) and I could probably devour a whole tub of Nutella in one sitting.

Juliette & Chocolat has been on my radar for a while now because I’ve heard amazing things from almost everyone I know. This is a great dessert place with 6 locations in Montreal, Canada. It’s the perfect place to go with friends, family, on a date or…just alone. I would totally come here alone because…why not?! (Single life though) I went to the location on 3600 St-Laurent Boulevard which is minutes away from downtown Montreal, a perfect place to go after dinner, a long day of sight seeing or shopping. What a way to treat yourself, am I right?

Just to start, the atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing. From the bright lights, eclectic decor and enticing aromas, this place feels like the kitchen of a well loved grandmother who goes off to win ribbons for her “famous apple pie” or something like that. Not going to lie, I want to be that grandmother. Just wait for it guys, that’s going to be me in… 40 years?

The menu has a variety of dessert items from crepes and brownies, to fondues and even salads (which I hear are very good). The prices aren’t outrageous for a good quality dessert item and especially for the bigger dishes, I do think you get your money’s worth in portion and taste. There were six of us sitting around our table all trying to decide what we wanted from the array of choices to choose from. As someone who has a problem with making a decision until I’m absolutely sure I’m choosing the best possible option, I was really stuck. That was when we spotted The Ginormous Fondue.

I took this screenshot from the website, where they have an electric copy of their menu. You can find this on their Online Menu. But seriously, how amazing does this sound?! Although when I first saw the price, the first thought that popped into my head was, hell no I’m not paying $65 for dessert. But then I realized that there were six of us and if we split the bill, it would come down to around $10 each which is pretty good for what we’re getting. So, all six of us bit the bullet and went ahead with this decision. Let me tell you, I am so happy we got this because it was AMAZING.

Let us take a moment first to admire this masterpiece. Ok. Are we done admiring? To start off, they bring it to the table with a sparkler and it honestly makes you feel crazy special because nobody else gets a sparkler on their dessert. I guess, unless it’s their birthday or something. But for the record, none of us were celebrating our birthdays when we went. I wish I had gotten a picture of the sparkler but alas, that went to the snap chat story…sorry guys.

After setting it down, they actually pour the chocolate freshly on top of everything and sprinkle on the mini chocolate balls. Now, for the dips. I know you can’t really see it in the picture, but this dish comes with a choice of fondue chocolate. We went ahead with the milk chocolate and it also came with the whip cream that you can see. We also decided to add a s’mores dip which you can kind of see in the top right corner and it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. Even though you had to pay a little extra, it was so so worth it.

The name does it justice because it is pretty …ginormous. The six of us just finished it with everyone feeling pretty happy and I feel like everyone got pretty equal share of the platter. I would say it’s even okay for three or four people to share. Anything less…I mean…maybe it could work but unless you go there ready to devour, I’m not sure if you would be able to finish it. Plus, if you’re splitting this with less people, the price becomes high and by then, you might be better off getting a few smaller things to try!! Believe me there are so many options you probably can’t go wrong with anything.

If you’re in the area please please give this a try if you haven’t already. This is one for the books!!

Top to bottom: Avenue, Tulle, Bumble, Beeper

About two months ago, I borrowed my friend Isabelle’s ColourPop Ultra Matte liquid lipstick. She let me use the colour, bumble and I absolutely loved it. I had no previous experience with liquid lipsticks and I was surprised at how quickly this one dried after application. When you first apply it, it’s surprisingly creamy and light after the first layer and it dries within seconds. I do suggest layering it to see what kind of result you can get. However, be sure not to layer it too much especially over multiple layers of the lipstick or else it does tend to crack a little bit. As for longevity, it does have pretty great staying power but it does have a little bit of fallout and after a long night. This doesn’t do miracles but it sure does the job well. Now for swatches, they’re at the end of the post but heads up, they do look different on my lips in comparison to the colour on my hands. In fact they look different on each person depending on your lip colour so while this can be a good reference, you won’t be able to tell exactly what colour it is! Also my hands look so weird in the swatches don’t mind me. 🙂

The first colour I got is avenue, which is an incredibly beautiful dark red colour. The red lipsticks that I’ve used before always had a vampy look to it but this one is a really nice glamorous red. On my lips, I think this is the perfect red because it’s not too blue or not too red. In fact, I paired this with bumble once and it was a really nice dark pink red colour! This is a great one for going out, colder weather or if you’re just feeling adventurous.

I’m going to try my best to describe tulle. It’s kind of a pink, mauve and purple colour. This is definitely a lot darker than I expected and a cool tone lip colour for sure. One thing though, it makes my teeth look super white! I do think one application is enough for a nice colour but building it up could strengthen it for sure! I would say this colour is similar to the last lipstick i’m going to show you called beeper but this one is actually pinker than beeper. All in all, there’s a lot of pigment in all of these lipsticks.

It wasn’t until writing this post that I realized how bad I am at describing colour so please try to bear with me. To me, this is a muted redish pink colour, more pink than red. If you only layer this on with your hands, the super thin layer of this lip product will actually create an almost hot pink colour. This so the lipstick that made me fall in love with this line and I have to thank bumble for being A+.

Last but not least is beeper. This is a matte brown colour with cool undertones that are slightly purple. I know I’m saying this is a brown, but it’s a lot lighter than regular brown… if that makes sense. I would say out of all of these colours, I would probably wear this one the least because of the super cool look it gives me( and I’m not super cool trust me).  It just doesn’t match with my daisy sundress you know? However, I could see this working really well during the colder months.

I know the lipsticks look slightly wet but that’s because I dabbed too much on at first and it didn’t dry when I took pictures of it! As for the smell of these lipsticks, I honestly don’t think they have a smell and it they did it really didn’t bother me.

These aren’t expensive at all cashing in at $6 USD and a little more CAD so these are definitely worth your money with the wide array of colours you have to choose from!!

That’s it for today!! xoxo
